The first ever Medical Marijuana Growers’ Forum in the USVI will take place the same weekend as the 2019 Virgin Islands Agricultural Fair. On February 17th, the Cloud9 Ultra Lounge on St. Croix is hosting a discussion on commercial cannabis farming with international expert, Adam Dunn, followed by an afterparty to honor Senator “Positive” Nelson.
The Agricultural Fair
February 17th is going to be a busy day on St Croix. The Virgin Islands Agricultural Fair will be in full swing–showcasing plants, animals, retail items, and mouthwatering meals prepared by locals from all three Virgin Islands.
But this year is special, because the USVI legislature just legalized a new crop in St Croix, St Thomas, and St John.
Presiding over the booths, carnival rides, and petting zoo this time is Senator Terrance “Positive” Nelson. The Governor Bryan Administration recently appointed Senator Nelson to Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture. This promotion closely follows the signing of the Medical Cannabis Patient Care Act (MCPCA).
Senator Nelson was the chief architect of the MCPCA. After years of hard work, he saw his bill, which legalizes medical marijuana in the USVI, become law this January.
While registered business won’t be able to sell cannabis crops until later this year, Ag Fair presented an excellent opportunity to gather anyone interested in becoming a part of this budding industry.
The Growers’ Forum
From 8 to 10pm on Saturday the 17th, growers from St Croix, St Thomas, and St John will meet at the Cloud9 Ultra Lounge in downtown Christiansted. The forum will feature a presentation by special guest Adam Dunn, followed by a discussion.
Adam Dunn, born in Woodstock, NY, is the founder of T.H.Seeds out of Amsterdam. With a long and successful history in the marijuana and hemp growing industry, Adam brings a wealth of information for prospective Virgin Islander cannabis growers.
Adam will present marijuana growing information for all prospective growers, from home to industrial scale. The forum will also include information on hemp farming along with CBD production.
After the forum, starting at 10pm, Cloud9 is hosting an afterparty featuring Ras Batch, Krunkmaster DJ Slik, and Ninja P Sounds to honor Senator “Positive” Nelson.
If you are interested in starting a marijuana grow operation in the US Virgin Islands, this forum is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from a world expert.
